Karaktervolle 17e-eeuwse steengoedkruik uit de Rijnlandse pottenbakkerscentra rond Frechen en Keulen. De bolle buik en het typische baardmasker onder de hals maken dit een klassiek voorbeeld van de zogenaamde “Bartmann”- of Bellarmine-kruiken, die in de vroeg-moderne tijd overal in Noord-Europa op tafel stonden.
De kruik toont een warme, bruine zoutglazuur met authentieke gebruikssporen en een oude barst in de schouder, passend bij haar leeftijd. Een puur, sculpturaal object dat zowel in een historisch interieur als in een minimalistische setting onmiddellijk presence heeft.
