Zwaar Gesculpteerde Bruidsschatkist in Teakhout – Gujarat, India, ca. 1850–1880
Saharanpur-atelier, Uttar Pradesh, Noord-India, ca. 1890–1910 (Brits-Indische periode).
Kenmerkend zijn de diepgesneden, doorlopende florale arabesken in panelen en de afgeschuinde hoeken (sarcophagus/achtzijdige vorm) op geprofileerde sokkel met kraalrand—typisch voor Saharanpur-werk uit deze tijd.
Materiaal: Hardhout (teak/shal), volledig handgesneden; latere groene verf/patinering (20e eeuw).
Constructie: Rechthoekig corpus met afgeschuinde hoeken (8-zijdige verschijning), vlak deksel met profilering; kleine blok-/klauwvoeten op plint.
Decor: Doorlopende florale ranken en bloemrozetten in veld- en friezen; geprofileerde kraalrand.
Afmetingen H 67 × B 139 × D 84 cm.
Conditie: Goed, passend bij leeftijd—rand- en hoekslijtage aan verf, kleine chipjes aan snijwerk, enkele droogspleten; structuur stabiel, scharnieren functioneel.
